Frances Ann
Barteldt
d. Feb 18, 2023
Frances Ann Barteldt
Frances (Verdone) Barteldt sadly left us on February 18, 2023 at 88 years old. Born in Queens, NY, Frances lived in Long Island, New Jersey, North Carolina, and finally in Montville, NJ, where she passed away at 88 years.
Beloved wife of the late Bruce A. Barteldt, Sr, Frances was a devoted mother of four, to the late Linda Zercoe (Douglas), and survivors Alane Bearder, Diane Maiello, and Bruce Barteldt, Jr. (Deborah). She was also grandmother to Kimberly Wylder, Megan Morgan, Bruce Cameron Bearder, Matthew Maiello, Samantha Lenz, Bradford Zercoe, Michael Maiello, Alexandra Singh, Moses Maiello, Elizabeth Barteldt and Bruce Barteldt III, as well as 4 great-grandchildren.
Fran and her husband Bruce were long-time realtors in Lake Norman, NC, where they enjoyed a career and close friendships of over 25 years. Fran was extremely smart, a talented gardener and hostas-gifter, decorator, seamstress and cook. She and Bruce were known for their well-attended holiday parties and sunset cruises with beloved neighbors.
Prior to moving south to NC, Fran was an early Renaissance woman and working mother. She was an executive secretary at Diamond Shamrock Chemical in Morristown, NJ for many years, as well as secretary to the Harding Township Board of Adjustment, at the same time as daily shuttle service, short-order cook and laundry service for her four active and appreciative children.
Funeral arrangements were private under the direction of Compassionate Cremation Services in Clifton, NJ. Frances' adult children are planning a Celebration of Life and will provide details to family and friends.
If you would like to remember Fran in a meaningful way, please donate in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association, www.ALZ.Org .
Rest in the peace and love of the Lord, dear Frances.
