Frances Jill
Massey
d. Mar 19, 2023
Frances Jill Massey, always called Jill, died on March 19, 2023 from the devastation of Alzheimer's Disease. Born on November 4, 1953, Jill was the youngest child of Cornelius and Judith Massey of Cresskill, NJ. Even near the end of her life there were flashes of her sense of humor and joy around pets.
Jill graduated from Cresskill High School in 1972 and went on to Penn State and University of Colorado where she completed a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She worked most of her life in banking but believed puzzles, bull riding and cartwheels were appropriate in the workplace. At work and while attending and serving in St. Paul's Church, she made life-long, loving friends who are mourning with the family. Visits to her English family were a source of great joy and a connection to strong roots. Colorado was her home from the seventies until she moved back to NJ in 2019 to be cared for by family in her final years.
Predeceased by her parents, she is survived by her husband Dan Martin of Lakewood, CO and by siblings Judy Honohan, Robert Massey, Tom Massey, and John Massey. She was a favorite Aunt to nieces and nephews: Melissa and Ian Honohan, Deanna and Joey Massey, Danielle and Thom Massey, Brian and Craig Massey. Great nieces and nephews Mia Melchior, Sid Huth, Oli Honohan, Lilly and Isabel Hurst, and Evynn Massey were a big part of her life.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Grace Episcopal Church, 4 Madison Ave., Madison, NJ. Donations in Jill's memory can be made to ASPCA.org and stpaulslakewood.org.
